Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Woodworking Calculator handles information when you visit woodworkingcalculator.org or use a calculator feature. The information handled depends on what you choose to do on the site.

Information you send to us

The Contact page has no submission form. If you email us, we receive the email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use that correspondence to respond to the request, investigate a reported issue, or handle a privacy inquiry.

Where an in-calculator feedback feature is available, it may submit the selected feedback type, the message, and limited calculator context such as the calculator identifier, release, or source page. Do not include passwords, private customer details, or confidential project information in feedback.

Calculator use and optional analytics

Values entered into a calculator are used to produce that calculator’s result. Calculator Core can also send sampled, allowlisted interaction events and coarse input categories when the site operator enables behavioral telemetry and a connected consent-management provider reports that you have granted consent. As of the date above, the site’s behavioral telemetry setting is off.

If behavioral telemetry is enabled in the future, the telemetry design converts eligible input changes into release-defined opaque categories in the browser before sending them. Raw input values and calculated results are not included in that telemetry. The telemetry request and behavior records are designed not to include IP addresses, user-agent strings, full URLs, query strings, referrers, or visitor or session identifiers. This description concerns the calculator telemetry feature; it does not describe ordinary web-server request logs.

PDF requests and email

If a calculator offers PDF reporting, you may be able to download a watermarked PDF without providing an email address. A request for a clean PDF may ask for your email address and may include an optional name, the calculator and release identifiers, the source page, and the status of any consent choice. An optional checkbox for occasional tool updates is separate from the PDF request; it should be selected only if you want those updates. The site uses submitted contact details to handle the requested PDF and any separately requested follow-up.

Cookies, browser storage, and technical logs

WordPress may use authentication cookies when an administrator or other account holder signs in. The site may also use browser storage or other technically necessary mechanisms for a feature you choose to use. When a page is requested, the hosting and security infrastructure must process connection information to deliver and protect the site; server logs may contain technical details such as an IP address, request path, user agent, and time. The exact logging and retention depend on the server and hosting configuration. These infrastructure records are separate from Calculator Core behavioral telemetry.

How information is used and retained

Information is used to operate the site, provide a requested calculator-related feature, respond to correspondence, review feedback, maintain security, and diagnose service problems. Calculator Core’s current default retention targets are 90 days for behavioral aggregates, PDF-generation records, diagnostics, and automatic feedback, and 365 days for PDF lead records. The site administrator can change these settings. Cleanup is performed by scheduled WordPress maintenance and may be delayed if that maintenance does not run as scheduled. Email correspondence is retained as needed to handle the request and maintain relevant records.

Access, service providers, and external sites

Information submitted through site features is available to authorized site administrators and may be processed by hosting, security, or email infrastructure used to operate the site. This policy does not identify a particular hosting or email provider. Links to third-party sites take you outside Woodworking Calculator; those sites handle information under their own terms and privacy practices.

Your requests and choices

You can choose not to send feedback or request an emailed clean PDF. Where the watermarked PDF option is offered, it can be used without the email request. If you previously opted into tool updates, you can ask to stop receiving them. To ask about information associated with an email address, or to request access or deletion of a PDF lead record, contact admin@woodworkingcalculator.org. We may need enough information to locate the record and verify the request.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when site features or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Questions about this policy can be sent to admin@woodworkingcalculator.org.
